Jarveal is an extraordinary human being. He is the only Honors Coach I met with because he was so supportive, kind and encouraging; whenever I had a question or a life change, he was the person I wanted to speak with and confide in. Honors UNC has truly been made better by Jarveal's time and expertise, and he is one of the greatest relationships I have formed since beginning my undergraduate career at UNC in 2018.
Jarveal is extremely professional and thoughtful; he is also extremely kind, helpful and relatable! No matter what I requested to meet with him about, I knew that he would tell me what I needed to hear or think about while still being wholeheartedly compassionate and respectful. Jarveal is also very understanding, and his commitment to my personal growth and development remained consistent even when unexpected circumstances (i.e. I couldn't attend a video call due to technical issues) arose, which made me even more certain that he was the person I wanted to work with throughout my UNC experience.
Jarveal saw the best in me; even if I approached him about a struggle or challenge, he would explicitly remind me that it was okay (and important!) to have moments of uncertainty or disappointment in my journey to being a better scholar and human being. Jarveal is an exemplar coach because he truly listened to me and offered me advice and opportunities based on what I wanted and needed. I am so grateful to know him and have been mentored by him!
