Meet the Coach

Jarveal Baker is a Coach, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, and Change Management leader with a track record spanning Big 4 consulting, Fortune 500 enterprises, and higher education.

A proud graduate of the Sybil C. Mobley School of Business & Industry at Florida A&M University (where he earned both a B.S. in Accounting and an MBA), Jarveal built his early career at Deloitte and Ernst & Young, designing and delivering learning and development initiatives for clients across the U.S. and abroad. An ICF-credentialed coach, he has spent more than 18 years helping people and organizations reach their potential.

As an entrepreneur, he founded The Upgrade University, an online L&D firm helping organizations optimize their workforce capability, and partnered with the United Way to strengthen the learning strategy behind their Business Pathways Program.

In higher education, Jarveal led coaching and professional development for Honors students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and drove the university-wide implementation of PeopleGrove; work recognized with the UNC Employee Forum's 2020 Professional Excellence Award. Most recently, at Kotter International, he co-built the Kotter Change Certification Program and led delivery of its L&D curriculum, equipping professionals worldwide to lead change in their own organizations.

Across every chapter (consulting, entrepreneurship, higher ed, and coaching), the throughline is the same: helping people and organizations grow through change.

With a passport stamped in over 30 countries across 6 continents, Jarveal brings a global perspective to everything he does; from the landscapes of Thailand to the shores of Brazil.
