Dr. Bryan Yackulic

I have worked with Jarveal at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) since August 2019. I can truly say he is one of the most impressive co-workers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. If I had to choose a few words to describe Jarveal those words would be strategic, impactful, and developer. Since starting his role at UNC, Jarveal has been instrumental in furthering our mission, by both creating and enhancing programs and initiatives. One of the many examples of his work was addressing the issue of Honors Carolina struggling to build community amongst students. To address this, Jarveal created Graham Gatherings (which is a social event held for students once a week on campus), formed the Honors Carolina Student

Association (HCSA), and created the Black Success Network to recognize, celebrate, support, and promote the academic, professional, social, and cultural development of Black students in Honors Carolina. In addition to this, Jarveal has influenced further change at Honors Carolina by developing professional development curriculum, teaching students professional development in our Honors 101 course, leading training, and has met with over 600 students for personal coaching with an average feedback score of 4.9 out of 5. Not only is Jarveal active within Honors Carolina, he has built relationships and contributed all across campus. He currently leads a university-wide professional development initiative in collaboration with the University Provost’s office that has yeilded great results. Moreover, Jarveal is a member of the Carolina Black Caucus, regularly works with team members at the Kenan Flagler School of Business, and has helped countless employees with furthering their careers through professional development. You would be hard pressed to find anyone at UNC who has met Jarveal and cannot speak to his caliber. His commitment to excellence, dedication of his efforts to motivate others through professional development, and desire to cultivate potential through professional development has truly impacted the fabric of UNC.

There is not much more to say, except that any organization that has the opportunity to bring Jarveal aboard should do so without reservation or hesitation. I am confident in saying that at some point in the near future, you will look back at your decision to hire Jarveal as one of the best decisions you have ever made.
